You saved my life!!Ray C’s humble message to Kikwete

Tanzanian singer Ray C is celebrating three years of drug free after falling deep into hard drugs that almost ended her life.

The former Tanzania president Jakaya Kikwete single handedly funded her rehab treatment abroad.

The singer thanked former  President once more for the transformation saying that he saved her life and music career.

During an interview with Couture Africa,the songstress said that the president coming out to help her made her really fight for her life as much as she had given up.

“I was at a point where I was done with life and contemplating suicide but I could hear a voice say ‘I am not done with you. I will bring along people to help you and lift you up. People you cannot imagine.’ Sure enough, I did get those calls from people urging me on,”she said.

Adding that,”Telling me not to quit; my mum, Kikwete. Can you imagine the president of the country offering to help you? It was God telling me I am important, that this is not you and that you have to get better. So I felt if people of that calibre can think of me and want to help me, who am I not to want to help myself?”

The  singer has promised to give her fans and family her best as a new person now that she’s back to normal.

“Today, I look back and see all I have done and gone through and I am still here. God is not done with me. I have so much to give to my family, my fans who support me and healed with me. They are real and they are like my family” she said.

In 2012, the former Tanzanian president took up her hospital bill and assured her mother the state will help and ensures she’ll beat the addiction.

However ,in 2014, the singer was rumoured to have gone back to drug.

Kikwete came back to offer her encouragement urging her take methadone dose exactly as prescribed by the doctor and she’ll beat the addiction.
