Why Obado, Just Like Raila Will Need to Travel to Israel For Cleansing

When Governor Obado asked Kenyans to Pray for him, he faced a backlash from a section of Kenyans led by ODM politicians from the Nyanza region.

Obado actually meant all that he said. The governor is seemingly trapped in the “mouth of the crocodile” and only serious prayers can save him now.

At Nyabururu Catholic Church during a funds drive also attended by deputy President Willim Ruto, Mr Obado said the prayers will help set him free.

“If you pray for me, I will get out of the crocodile’s mouth,” he said to laughter.

From one problem to the other, the governor seems destined for a long tough road with the law as he has not only have to deal with Murder charges and the illegal possession of firearms charges, the governor also has grave allegations of corruption labeled against him.

The Migori Governor is accused by the anti-graft body, EACC of siphoning Ksh.2 billion from the county coffers through companies registered by his relatives.

“The commission received credible information that a few persons well known to be proxies of the governor, registered several companies for the purpose of fraudulent acquisition of public funds through fictitious contracts,” says EACC in documents filed in court.

EACC investigators are said to be finalizing on their graft investigations before hauling the suspects in court. In case the investigations are completed, the governor might end up being a guest of the state again.

Obado is believed to have used the stolen cash to maintain a flashy lifestyle for himself and his family. Detectives say that through the procurement scam, Mr Obado was able to build a home worth Sh100 million in Uriri in Migori County and send at least Sh13 million to his children.

It is the corruption allegations that actually led the anti-corruption detectives to raid Obado’s houses in Migori and Nairobi in search of evidence and in the process found 8 guns from his two homes with the DCI later revealing that 3 of the guns found in his possession were illegal.

During the raid at is homes and offices, the EACC detectives also confiscated bank statements and electronics.

It seems like the Governor’s woes will not be ending anytime soon and the prayers he requested will come in handy in helping him overcome all that he is going through.

Do you think that Obado will survive this new onslaught?
