Mutahi Ngunyi Reads Political Witch-Hunt in Obado’s Never Ending Woes

Okoth Obado’s recent woes seem to have caught the attention of almost all Kenyans with the Embattled Migori Governor becoming the talk of town for a long time now.

Kenyans and political leaders have both had a say in the governors troubles with some sections criticizing the governor while another section has openly supported the governor.

The people of Migori have led a spirited fight to have their governor freed. They have held demonstrations both in the City of Nairobi and back in Migori just to try and air out their frustrations .

Politicians led by Boni Khalwale and Ford Kenya Party leader Moses Wetangula have also seemed to offer their support for the embattled governor.

According to Khalwale, Obado should not be victimized since his case is already in court and it will only be determined by the nature of evidence presented in Court.

Political analyst Mutahi Ngunyi on his part think that the latest onslaught on Governor Obado with regards to the illegal guns found in his possession is a political witch-hunt due to the Governor’s latest association with Deputy President William Ruto.

“I DO NOT understand WHY EACC is investigating Obado’s GUNS. This is not PART of their MANDATE. It is ABUSE of OFFICE. Obado is TARGETED because of Ruto. Or is HE?,” tweeted Mutahi.

Obado’s close associates believe that his current tribulations have been brought about by his recent association and pledge to work with Ruto with Ruto’s latest visit to Obado’s Migori county seemingly causing jitters among politicians and especially the Raila Odinga loyalists.

Some of Obado’s supporters also claim that the illegal guns found in his houses were planted by people who want to see him go down the drain even further.

Deputy President William Ruto already pledged to work with governor Obado to bring development to the people of Migori.

β€œIs there a problem if I work with governor Okoth Obado? I will continue to work with him to deliver development to our people. I will not mind what is said of our closeness,” he said.

Obado has also received support from Miguna Miguna who has questioned how Obado was allegedly in possession of the said guns and if it is within the anti-corruption’s body duty to deal with illegal guns.

“I understand that Migori Governor Okoth Obado has been arrested by the at a Nairobi hotel for guns purportedly found at his “homes” in Migori & Nairobi. How was he in POSSESSION of guns when he wasn’t at home? When and how did the get JURISDICTION over guns?,” tweeted Miguna.
