Has Kanze Dena injected the much looked for ‘swag’ into the State House since she took over in communications? 

Bright looking Kanze matched out of State House Mombasa on Thursday morning to give her statement on the upcoming presidential schedule causing excitement across social media platforms.

Kenyans could not stop congratulating her as she read through her statement at the entrance steps.

Kanze came bearing good news to farmers and entire country with the president is set to launch key projects in the coastal town into the coming week with an intention of making the city a strong tourism centre and hub.

UPCOMING ACTIVITIES

The Blue Economy Conference

As we may all know, between November 26th and 28th, Kenya will, together with Canada, co-host to the world’s first Sustainable Blue Economy Conference at KICC in Nairobi.

This two-day meeting will bring together over 7,000 participants from around the world to discuss how to sustainably maximize on the blue economy for development.

Blue Economy is a new frontier for development as we move to tap into the productive capacity of our water resources and empower communities in a sustainable way.

By hosting the conference, we as a nation affirm our appreciation of the importance of conserving and sustainably using our oceans, seas, lakes, rivers and marine resources through enabling cooperation for shared prosperity.

We expect several heads of state and governments, and delegations from across the world to grace the event which will be opened by His Excellency the President on the 26th November 2018.

Blue Economy is at the core of the Government’s the Big 4 Development agenda, the Kenya Vision 2030 and the President’s Jubilee Party 2013 re-election manifesto.

Launch of the Kenya Coast Guard Service

As part of the broad Blue Economy strategy, President Uhuru Kenyatta will be in Mombasa on Monday, 19th November to launch the Kenya Coast Guard Service.

The service is tasked by law with the management and enforcement of laws in Kenya’s internal and territorial waters.

The Kenya Coast Guard Service will be responsible for enforcing maritime security and safety, pollution control and sanitation measures as well as prosecution of offenders.

The new service will also be responsible for port and coastal security, search and rescue and protection of maritime resources, including fisheries.

It is estimated that as a country we lose over $100 Million in revenues annually due to illegal and criminal activities at sea and this specialized unit will be deployed to safeguard these resources.

The Service will have its headquarters in Liwatoni, Mombasa, and shall be led by Brigadier Vincent Naisho Loonena as the Acting Director General.

On the same day, the President will also: (a) Commission MV Doria: This is the vessel that will be used by the Kenya Coast Guard Service to patrol our ocean.

(b) Launch the Eat More Fish Campaign: This is an initiative by the State Department of Fisheries that seeks to increase dietary intake of fish in the nation.

(c) Present the Bandari College Charter

(d) Commission the Kenya Sea Farers Program

Launch of the Universal Health Pilot Project

In December, His Excellency the President will launch the pilot programme of the Universal Health Care programme under the Big 4.

Universal Health Coverage is aimed at ensuring that all Kenyans have access to comprehensive health care at affordable costs.

The Ministry of Health will roll out the UHC program in 2 phases.

In Phase one; The Ministry of Health will pilot UHC in four counties: Kisumu, Nyeri, Machakos and Isiolo.

Phase two will encompass utilization of lessons learnt from the pilot phase in the rollout of UHC to the rest of the Country

We look forward to His Excellency’s launch of this programme as it will ease the burden of accessing healthcare for Kenyans.

Further details of the launch will be shared with the media as and when the final plans are confirmed.
