AFC Leopards Latest Move to End Gor Mahia’s Dominance

It seems like AFC Leopards are in for serious business come next season if there latest transfer activities are anything to go by. From recruiting a new head coach, AFC Leopards are now closing in on securing the services of former Rayon Sports custodian Eric Ndayishimiye.

Leopards struggled to find a dependable custodian last season, prompting the club to rely on the inexperienced Ezekiel Owade. Following Gabriel Andika’s exit from the Den, Ingwe has been left with Jairus Adira and Owade, and the two cannot fire the club to the title.

Contact has already been made by Afc Leopards officials and a source has intimated  that if all goes well then an official announcement is imminent. “We are close to signing Bakame (Ndayishimiye), he is a good goalkeeper, who can help us do well in the league.

“We need someone with experience and mature enough to win us the matches and we believe this man can help us do that.” said an official from the club.

Ndayishimiye was the captain for Rayon Sports until June this year when he was dismissed for reported disciplinary issues.

The latest developments come a day after Simon Mulama was rumored to be the front runner to take up the vacant Team Manager role at former Kenyan Premier League side AFC Leopards.

The post fell vacant after Ingweparted ways with Gilbert Selebwa, who finally left the den after several months of speculation.

According to a letter from AFC Leopards , Selebwa agreed to terminate his contract with the club to pursue his coaching career. “As per the negotiation with you, the club has agreed to terminate your contract to enable you to pursue your coaching career.

“We would like to thank you for the services that you have offered to our club for the entire period that you have been the Team Manager. With this letter, both parties agree that no party will be liable to the other party in any way as the contract ended on mutual consent,” read a letter dated November 1 and signed by the club Secretary-General Oscar Igaida.
