Youngest ambassador to eat from Raila’s pot of wisdom

 

Celebrated 13yrs old Gymnast, Wendy Waeni, is set to meet with  Raila Odinga ahead of the World Childrens Day scheduled for the 20th November.

Waeni who just finished her Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE) was appointed as the  Inspirational and Enthusiastic Young Champion Ambassador by the United Nations International Children’s Emergency Fund (UNICEF) only 6 days ago and is already showcasing her leadership skills in the best way there is.

Wendy Waeni announced her appointment and proved to be ready and up for the task.

Although the young ambassador has not revealed the agenda of her need to meet with Odinga, it is quite obvious that is  looking forward to peach her ideas in line with her campaign as well as eat from Raila’s pot of wisdom. They say you become wiser when you dine with the elderly.

Her day one after her UNICEF appointment began with creating awareness of children rights to education. The agenda of this year’s World Childrens Day is to  advocate a World where every child is in school to achieve their dreams .

“Every child in the world has the right to a free and quality education. More than 260 million children and young people are out of school, and many of them will never get an education.Millions more are in school but not learning due to poor education. ” reads her post in part.

The 13-year-old came into the limelight after her extraordinary  gymnastics skills were showcased in the media. Since then she has gone on to win the hearts of Kenyans, Heads of states including President Uhuru Kenyatta and Rwanda’s Paul Kagame with her performances.

The young brilliant mind sent out her plea  for meeting Kenya’s  former Prime Minister, Raila Odinga  on her twitter page earlier this morning which was replied to by ODM director of communications; Philip Etale  who promised to book her an appointment with Raila Odinga.

At her tender age, she has been able to represent Kenya at the World Talent Expo in Taiwan, China, and even got invitations from Rwanda’s President, Paul Kagame, and British Primer Minister, David Cameron for performances.

The young star is already walking on a the path of a brighter future as she continues to inspire other young souls. Her story is purely described as young, successful and brilliant.. serving as an encouragement to young souls with big dreams.
