Can we just first agree that President Donald Trump is an enemy of all the people? Why doesn’t he ever have anything nice or kind to say?
In a Twitter thread, President Trump attacked the President of France, Emmanuel Macron over nationalism, plans for a European army, French tariffs on US wine imports, and the French leader’s popularity rating.
THREAD:
Emmanuel Macron suggests building its own army to protect Europe against the U.S., China and Russia. But it was Germany in World Wars One & Two – How did that work out for France? They were starting to learn German in Paris before the U.S. came along. Pay for NATO or not!

On Trade, France makes excellent wine, but so does the U.S. The problem is that France makes it very hard for the U.S. to sell its wines into France, and charges big Tariffs, whereas the U.S. makes it easy for French wines, and charges very small Tariffs. Not fair, must change!

The problem is that Emmanuel suffers from a very low Approval Rating in France, 26%, and an unemployment rate of almost 10%. He was just trying to get onto another subject. By the way, there is no country more Nationalist than France, very proud people-and rightfully so!……..

By the way, when the helicopter couldn’t fly to the first cemetery in France because of almost zero visibility, I suggested driving. Secret Service said NO, too far from airport & big Paris shutdown. Speech next day at American Cemetery in pouring rain! Little reported-Fake News!

The French government has however fired back and criticised Donald Trump for displaying a lack of “common decency” when he attacked Emmanuel Macron on the anniversary of the 2015 Paris terror attacks, a day when the country was mourning victims of the November 2015 terror attacks.
When asked on about the Trump’s Twitter posts, the French Government spokesman Benjamin Griveaux said, “We were commemorating the assassination of 130 of our compatriots three years ago in Paris and Saint-Denis, and so I will reply in English: ‘Common decency’ would have been appropriate.”
The tweets underscored tensions between the once-chummy leaders and displayed Trump’s irritation over criticism of how he acted in France.
The basis of Trump’s attack appeared to be a misunderstanding of an interview Macron gave to the Europe 1 radio station last week, calling for an EU army so that the continent could defend itself alone “without only relying on the United States”.
Although Macron told Trump his words had been misinterpreted, the American leader ignored this and wrote five tweets covering the French president’s low popularity, unemployment in France, tariffs on American wine and France’s second world war record.
The November 13th 2015 attacks saw nine Islamist terrorists carry out a series of shootings and bombings that began at the Stade de France in Saint-Denis, then a series of bars, restaurants and cafes in the French capital, and culminated at the Bataclan concert hall killing 13o people and injuring 350 others in what is the worst-ever terrorist attack in the city.
What do you think about Trump’s social media rant?
