Manchester United are just preventing themselves from panicking after their number one leaves ,if he ever leaves and are already have his replacement Reports in Spain De Gea say he is unhappy at not being offered an extension on his contract that runs until June 2021.
And they believe he could now try to force a move in the forthcoming January window.
Oblak, 25, was linked with a move to Old Trafford in the summer as a a potential replacement for David de Gea.
De Gea, 28, was a long-term target for Real Madrid but their interest ended after they signed Thibaut Courtois from Chelsea in the summer.
However, reports from The Telegraph suggest United fear they will still lose the Spaniard in the summer.
His contract expires in June, although the club have the option of extending it for a further year.
They will almost certainly take up that option but risk losing him on the cheap in January or on a free the following summer if he is not sold immediately after the extension is triggered.
United want to extend his deal beyond that but reports claim De Gea is reluctant to commit after their struggles this season.
And United could look to renew their interest in Oblak if they are forced to sell.
The Slovenian is regarded as one of the world’s top goalkeepers and was recently named the best stopper in La Liga.
He conceded just 22 league goals in 37 league appearances in 2017-18 and racked up a whopping 22 clean sheets.
Speaking at the awards ceremony, Oblak said he hoped to stay at the club but hinted he might leave in the future.
“I like to hear people say that I’m the best goalkeeper in the world,” he said.
”I work hard to do that but my award is a result of the hard work of the whole team because they help me a lot.
“I thank them, the coaching staff and the fans. I hope that I will continue for many years at Atletico and in LaLiga Santander.
“For the time being, I am here.”
