Established in 1901 and the largest hospital in Kenya and East Africa. KNH is a teaching and referral hospital providing specialized medical care, training and research.

Its mission is to provide specialized quality prevention interventions, facilitate training and research in HIV/AIDS prevention and care, and support specialized specific psychosocial initiatives in HIV/AIDS care.

A referral hospital is a hospital that provides advanced care, which is health care from specialists in a large hospital after referral from primary care and secondary care from smaller hospitals of level 4, or district hospitals.

Kenyatta hospital has the most advanced healthcare in Kenya and with specialized doctors .

The Kenyatta National Hospital’s Ward Adoption Programme is a distinctive project that gives an opportunity to individuals and corporate companies to sponsor a ward at the country’s largest referral hospital whose objective is to provide specialized health care.

These partnerships contribute directly to the improvement of the existing infrastructure which ensures that patients receive treatment in a good, clean environment that is therapeutic.

The programme has had several successful Adoptions and recognizes the each partner as important in the development of the Hospital and mutual partnerships.

WARD 3C RENOVATION BY MAGNATE VENTURES LTD.The ward was adopted by Magnate Ventures Ltd. The First Lady was the Chief Guest for the re-opening on 5th July 2018.

NEW BORN UNIT RENOVATION SPONSORED BY SAFARICOM FOUNDATION

 

The New Born unit was adopted by Safaricom Foundation during the Kenya @ 50 celebrations and was launched by the First Lady of the Republic of Kenya.

The main aim was to improve clinical outcomes by reducing mortality rates and improving the overall ambience of the facility.PAEDIATRIC CANCER WARDS (3D & 1E) SPONSERED BY ISRAELI EMBASSY

The Childrens cancer wards have been adopted by the Israeli Embassy.

They have supported the childrens wards by refurbishing and equipping them to ensure that the children are comfortable during treatment and have a place for recreation.

WARD 3A RENOVATION SPONSORED BY DALBIT PETROLEUM

Ward 3A was adopted by Dalbit Petroleum. The company refurbished it and improved the ambience of the children’s in support of KNH infrastructural improvement.
