It is not yet done for Obado! Migori county boss to be arrested at anytime

From crisscrossing in his County alongside Deputy President William Ruto to crisscrossing in Nyeri, where he made statements that might deny him the freedom he has been enjoying from the bail he was granted. It is not yet done for Migori Governor Okoth Obado, who on top of facing murder charges, he is being haunted by the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) for corruption allegations. Will DP Ruto save him?May be the “crocodiles” he was lamenting about could have saved him rather than eating him!

On Tuesday, it downed on the Migori county boss when EACC officials raided his two homes (Migori and Nairobi) in search of documents that could aid them in completing investigations into his corruption allegations.

Had he turned Migori County into a family business? Well, that is what EACC is after.

Obado is accused by the anti-graft body of siphoning Ksh.2 billion from the county coffers through companies registered by his relatives.

β€œThe commission received credible information that a few persons well known to be proxies of the governor, registered several companies for the purpose of fraudulent acquisition of public funds through fictitious contracts,” says EACC in documents filed in court.

The haunting started immediately he was released on bail, and this might again take him behind the bars.

The last raid in the homes of politicians was witnessed in September when the same EACC officials raided the home of former Nairobi governor Evans Kidero in search for the documents that could again aid them in investigation into his corruption allegations.

The officials had camped at Kidero’s home in Muthaiga from 2:00 am and guess what happened thereafter? Kidero was arrested and taken to the EACC headquarters in Nairobi for interrogation.

This means that after carrying out the search at Obado’s homes, they may come for him thereafter and take him for interrogation the same way they did to Kidero.

Do you think Obado will survive in his corruption allegations following the probe launched by EACC?
