American creative genius, writer and co creator of fictional characters Stan Lee has died at the age of 95.
An ambulance was called to his home in Hollywood Hills on Monday morning and took him to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center, where he died, TMZ reports.
Stan Lee’s daughter also confirmed the news of her father’s death to the website and the Reuters news agency.
Online sources reveal that Lee had suffered from pneumonia in February this year. He also struggled with vision issues and had revealed in 2016 he could no longer read the comics he created.
Lee was a man of many titles and his creative role contributed greatly to the growth of the marvel industry. He was an American comic book writer, editor, producer, and publisher.
He was also editor-in-chief of Marvel Comics, and later its publisher and chairman, leading its expansion from a small division of a publishing house to a large multimedia corporation.
He is the man behind fictional characters like Spider-Man, the Hulk, Doctor Strange, the Fantastic Four, Daredevil, Black Panther, the X-Men, and—with his brother, co-writer Larry Lieber—the characters Ant-Man, Iron Man, and Thor.
For comic enthusiasts you might know all these characters and even those who are clueless might at least know one.
After his retirement from Marvel, Stan Lee remained a public figurehead for the company, and frequently made cameo appearances in movies based on Marvel characters. Meanwhile, he continued independent creative ventures into his 90s.
For comic book enthusiasts like me, we will forever be grateful for the characters he brought forth to life that we like and love.
He is a man who gave entertainment a magical touch and you must agree that most children once wished to be any of the super hero’s he created.
He led an exemplary life by living with purpose and going where his passion was rooted.
Stan Lee maximized the use of his gift and beyond the characters, he also scripted, art directed and edited most of the marvel series.
