Striking matatus will have no option but to comply to the rules no matter how tough they seem. If you have a good understanding the man Matiang’i.

Matiang’i is like the Prime Minister in Kenya whenever he steps in everything must follow suit, trust me on this one.

Matiang’i was taken to the ministry of education, despite all the strikes , burning of schools the schools are now in order. The cheating menace has reduced in the system. The school buses are now yellow all of them despite the resistance that was experienced.

If you remember the Miguna deportation saga. The man was moved. Despite court orders CS Matiang’i acted above the law and till now Miguna has never returned in the country.

The Michuki rules which the crack down started today Matiang’i has also stepped in to ensure that the ministry of transport tore with the rules.

CS Matiang’i has issued strong warnings to those matatu operators that have withdrawn their services from the road. The CS has issued if they fail to return to the road by the end of the day their licenses will be revoked.

Matiang’i has also issued a stern warning to matatus who have taken the advantage of the current situation to hike fare prices. Those still will face a heavy punishment of their licenses being revoked.

The failure to comply with the rules attract heavy penalties. Failure to have a seat belt on the vehicle attracts ksh. 10,000 per seat. The drivers and touts are also expected to wear the uniform as expected by the Michuki rules.

The passengers are not excluded in the new rules. Failure to wear seat belts attract a fine of ksh. 500.

Motorists are also required to abide by the rules not wearing helmets and reflector jacket attracts heavy fines for both the rider and the passenger.
