How Ruto Plans to Take Governor Obado With him to Heaven

Ever been into so much trouble and ridicule only to later find that one person that suddenly believes in you, loves you and treats you like a brother? Well, such is the state Migori governor Okoth Obado is in. After months of being a lonely and a seemingly dejected man, the Migori county chief has finally found back his groove all thanks to Deputy President William Ruto.

The two are developing a close relationship that is sending jitters among Raila Odinga loyalists especially in the Nyanza region. Obado and Ruto have both come under intense criticism from ODM leaders led by chairman John Mbadi, Junet Mohammed and now Embakasi East Mp Babu Owino.

Ruto has however remained adamant and insisted that nothing will stop him from working with leaders across the political divide for the sake of countrywide development.

Ruto says  he is ready to work with opposition leader Raila Odinga and that he does not care what people make of his “closeness” to Migori Governor Okoth Obado.

Ruto says that the fact that President Uhuru Kenyatta and Mr Odinga decided to bury the hatchet and work together is the reason he is visiting all parts of the country, including Migori, to spread development.

Ruto pledged to work with governor Obado to bring development to the people of Migori, a declaration that was highly welcomed by the people of Migori.

“Is there a problem if I work with governor Okoth Obado? I will continue to work with him to deliver development to our people. I will not mind what is said of our closeness,” he said.

Despite facing many woes including murder and corruption-related charges, Mr. Obado is still a darling of many Migori County residents and his influence in the region is something that cannot be overlooked.

There have even been political rumours that Mr. Obado would make a good running mate to William Ruto come 2022. Anyway, in politics everything is possible.

Ruto was hosted by Obado in Migori yesterday with the DP officially opening a training institute at Kandiege in Kuria East after which he led a funds drive in the aid of about 20 churches from the region.

This came days after the deputy President asked leaders and especially the members of Parliament to ensure that the people they represent get access to Bibles published in their local languages so that they can read and understand God’s word.

“MPs, other leaders should lead efforts to ensure communities access the Bible in their languages so that they can hear, read, learn God’s word. Bible translation allows easy interaction with Scriptures; equips people to do Lord’s work and affords opportunity to grow the Church,” said Ruto.

Do You believe that Ruto and Obado’s relationship will be beneficial to both parties?
