Ramos once again apologized for the elbowing: no intention to injure you. Spanish media: Don’t make excuses!

In the Champions League game, Real Madrid against Plzen, Ramos’ elbowing caused Havel’s nosebleed, and the Plzen player had to leave the stadium and went straight to the hospital for treatment. Not a time after the game, Ramos denied that he injured his opponent on purpose. Now Ramos once again emphasized that on Twitter.

On Twitter, he wrote, “A victory to build on and also to learn from. Football always teaches you things and tonight I shouldnt have gone into the challenge like that. Milan, it wasn’t my  intention to injure you. Get well soon.”

However, Ramos’ apology was considered lack of sincerity by the Spanish media. They thought the Real Madrid’s captain was just finding excuses himself. Diario Sport pointed out that Ramos is one of the dirtiest players in the world of football. In La Liga, Ramos received 164 yellow cards and 19 red cards. He also got 38 yellow cards in the Champions League. Ramos once seriously tackled Messi when Real Madrid was 0-5 down to Barcelona and this caused him a red card. After recieving the red card, he continued to push Puyol and Xavi. In the Champions League final last season, Ramos injured Salah and elbowed Carius to cause his concussion, which is an important reason for Real Madrid to win the trophy.

Ramos now elbowed Havel, but he has not been punished as he should. Diario Sport believes that Ramos always gets double-standard treatment. He seems to be free of punishment on the pitch. Langlet was sent off for VAR before, but when Ramos fouls, the referee would hardly choose to use the VAR to see whether giving a red card or not.

“I have no intention to injure my opponent.” These words from Ramos are stated time and time again after his brutal foul. However, the Diario Sport points out that Ramos is just making excuses for himself. Due to the rude foul from Ramos, many players have been seriously injured, and several of them even miss a whole season.

In September 2010, Ramos’s tackle led to a serious injury to Levante player Nacho Gonzalez, who was out for the rest of season. In October 2016, Ramos injured Montolivo’s right knee. This injury made him miss the whole season, and he could never find back the top level after recovery. In 2011, Ramos caused Bartillo to be seriously injured in his right knee. In December 2014, Ramos deliberately stepped on Cabral’s ankle, causing him to be carried off by the stretcher.
