It’s disgusting and disturbing when a man defiles a girl young enough to be his daughter. Worse still, when it’s a government official employed to maintain law and order.
Police on Thursday arrested Dickson Okoyo Ndemo, a government official attached to the County Government of Kajiado over defilement of a minor.
Mr. Ndemo, who works as a Sergeant at Arms at Kajiado County Assembly, was arrested after he failed to appear in Court to answer charges of indecent act to a minor aged 12 years old. The Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) announced the arrest of Mr. Ndemo on their official Twitter account.

According to the DCI, Ndemo committed that crime on August 6th, 2015 and was summoned to appear before Milimani Law courts but failed prompting a warrant of arrest to be issued against him.
This is not the first time a government official has been put on the stop for defilement. In Kilifi, an official of the county government went missing after he was accused of sexually defiling a 15-year-old, class six pupil. The county official is also believed to have impregnated the teenager after which he facilitated an abortion.
The Kajiado Sergeant of Arms was taken to Buruburu police station as he awaits to be arraigned in court. He is set to answer to charges of committing an indecent act with a child contrary to section II (i) of the sexual offences Act No 3 of 2006.
Do you think the consequences for sexual assault in Kenya are strict enough?
