Moyes is like Sir Alex Ferguson Manchester United legend reveals

Eric Djemba Djemba has likened David Moyes to Sir Alex Ferguson during his time at Old Trafford.

Moyes succeeded the legendary Scott but was sacked within one season for poor performances and Djemba Djemba feels the two had similar characteristics when it comes to the player-coach relationship. The former United midfielder pointed out that Jose Mourinho is different from the two given that he is not close to players.

“In order to make everything work, it’s the manager’s responsibility. David Moyes was a little bit like Ferguson, he never really argued with the players and no major incidents came out.” Djemba Djemba told The Sun.

“Ferguson would never give you that chance to do that. He would be close to you like a dad. But Jose Mourinho is not like Ferguson. He’s not close to the players. He’s a man who, when he does an interview, will speak negatively about the player, and that’s a different style.” he said.

The Cameroonian said he would like his former teammate Ryan Giggs takes the mantle as United manager given that he understands the club and has experience acquired from the length of time he served the Old Trafford outfit.

“I would love to see Giggsy as the manager. I was a younger player and Giggs was an older, more experienced footballer. But he managed the younger players, he was a good role model for us all.

“I think he would be very good for the likes of Paul Pogba and Jesse Lingard. Also, he was a legendary player for Manchester United, he won everything including the Champions League. I think they should give him a chance.” Djemba Djemba added.
