Kenyan Woman Making Headlines Abroad For All the Wrong Reasons

Great Kenyan women have for long been said to be the athletes that keep winning long distance races in different parts of the world. The world’s attention has always been directed to such Kenyan women.

Today though, another Kenyan Women is in the headlines for allegedly committing murder in Ireland.

Ms Grace Miano, 50, was on Sunday charged with the murder of Limbani Mzoma, 27, after his body was found with several stab wounds in an apartment at South Co, Dublin.

According to Dublin Live, autopsy report revealed that some of the victim’s body parts including his private parts and eyelids were hacked off during the violent attack.

The mutilated body was discovered at a rented house in Tudor Lawns on Thursday.

However, while she lived in the high-end rented house, the court heard, Ms Miano survived off social welfare. The nature of the relationship between the suspect and the victim is not known.

Ms Miano made no comment when she was charged at Dublin District Court but smiled and waved at television cameramen as she arrived in court.

The defendant, who wore a blonde wig in court, slumped forward in her seat before the hearing started and at one stage was seen praying.

Defence lawyer Jonathan Dunphy told Judge Grainne Malone that his client, who has been living in Ireland for a number of years, wanted a psychiatric assessment carried out.

He said Ms Miano was also requesting medical attention, as she had complained of pains in her head and leg while in custody.

However, Justice Mailone, who heard the case on Sunday, declined to grant Ms Miano’s request, saying she lacked authority.

This is not the first time a Kenyan woman is in the headlines for the wrong reasons. Last month, The American intelligence groups(AIG) questioned a Kenyan woman by the name Muthoni Gathitu over the disappearance of Tanzanian tycoon Mohammed Dewji after photos of Dewji were found on her web page linking her to his disappearance.

The AGI linked Muthoni to the case because it discovered Dewji was being photographed by the Kenyan woman for a certain period of time ahead of his mysterious disappearance. Countless photos of the kidnapped billionaire in several boats in Mombasa and South Africa were found on the woman’s web page.
