What Raila told Gor Mahia team ahead of their match with Everton

Gor Mahia team on Friday last week departed the country for UK ahead of their clash with Everton in the sport pesa trophy match to be played today at Goodison Park in Liverpool. Did you know that their great fan, politician and patron followed them later?

Former Prime Minister Raila Odinga will be at Goodison Park on Tuesday evening when KPL Champions  take on Everton in a historic match.

The record domestic league champions got the rare opportunity to get a second crack at Everton after retaining the SportPesa Cup with a 2-0 victory over Simba SC.

They met for the first time in Tanzania at the National Stadium in Dar-es-Salaam on July 13, 2017 their top striker, Jacques Tuyisenge scored against Everton in their first meeting following their inaugural SportPesa Cup success in the same country a month earlier. They were however handed a 2-1 defeat.

Former Prime Minister Odinga who will be at Goodison Park today as they take on Everton, on Monday night paid a courtesy call on players during their dinner.

He encouraged them to offer their best and make the name Gor Mahia shine more tommorow. Alongside Odinga were also the club chairman, PS Kaberia and Sportpesa CEO Ronald Karauri.

Gor Mahia will however face their hosts without their top striker,  Tuyisenge as they pursue another glittering chapter in their decorated history.

The Rwanda international missed the last window to link up with his teammates in England on Monday when his passport became stuck on its way from the British consulate in South Africa to Nairobi. On which side can you place your bet?
