Mutahi Ngunyi Reveals Ruto’s Best Weapon En-route to Statehouse

Political analyst Mutahi Ngunyi is kown to be man that just doesn’t speak without having concrete facts. He has of late been on a mission, a mission to make things crystal clear as the 2022 race to statehouse gain momentum.

He has been seen as a man that looks down on a William Ruto Presidency. It is like he does not believe that Ruto will win the upcoming general elections.

He earlier pointed that William Ruto might be campaigning for a position that will not exist come 2022. He has also indicated earlier that he supports the calls for referendum, calls that the deputy president and his team don’t want to get answered. Ruto has in the past publicly opposed the push to change the constitution terming a burden to Kenyans and a distraction from development.

Mutahi is back, and this time with more revelations as the 2022 race heats up. He has played down an apparent split among mount Kenya leaders saying they were just anxious over leadership and there was no split in the vote rich region. There have been claims that the Mount Kenya region is split between having Ruto as their number one choice for Presidency or going for another candidate all together, claims that Mutahi Ngunyi has dismissed.

“The anxiety in GEMA (Gikuyu, Embu, and Meru Association) has left them with the option of either a referendum or have Anne Waiguru deputise Ruto but which shall not be good for the nation,” said Ngunyi.

He continues to say that for the fruits of the building bridges initiative to be seen, the Raila Odinga factor will have to be factored in the race to Statehouse.

Raila Odinga has already hinted that he is not interested in the Presidency come 2022 and that his main agenda right now is to concentrate on his new role as the AU High Envoy for Infrastructure and Development.

According to Mutahi Ngunyi, Ruto will have to go for Winnie Odinga; Raila’s daughter to be her running mate.

Raila Odinga has been seen to be grooming her daughter for a political role and infact took her with him to South Africa for his first visit to the NEPAD headquarters.

It is not yet however clear if Central Kenya leaders will buy Mutahi’s idea after earlier suggestions that the region will not accept any deal that will not benefit it’s people.

“In the absence of a Parliamentary System, Winnie Odinga will be Ruto’s running mate at age 32. Then we will make her president at 42. not a bad idea” he said.

Deputy President William Ruto on Friday hosted President Uhuru Kenyatta and ODM leader Raila Odinga for a lunch at his Karen residence in Nairobi.

Senate Majority Leader Kipchumba Murkomen was also present. It was not immediately clear whether the lunch was planned or not.

Mr Ruto said he was consulting with his boss (Mr Kenyatta) on “matters of development and unity”.

The lunch led to wide speculations among Kenyans with many claiming that Mr. Odinga might have finally agreed to work with William Ruto. Did they discuss the Winnie Odinga factor? Well, only time will tell as the political temperatures keep rising daily with new revelations.
