Chelsea still needs Morata’s contribution, although Hazard is excellent.

Hazard is always the Chelsea’s star and has continued his amazing and impressive performance for Chelsea this season, contributing seven goals and four assists across 10 Premier League appearances. The Blues have often relied on the Belgium forward for attacking inspiration.

However, in this round, Morata, another Chelsea’s Striker, scored two goals at Stamford Bridge Stadium, helping Chelsea 3-1 win over Crystal Palace and extending their unbeaten start in the division to 11 matches. It can be seen that even though Hazard may be the most important player at Chelsea, the club would also need Morata’s contribution.

Morata came to Chelsea in 2017 after leaving Real Madrid. Morata started off strongly but struggled badly in the second half of last season. He was not the quickest player when the counter-attack was played on by the previous Chelsea’s manager Antonio Conte. As a result, he missed some good chances and lost a lot of confidence, even making excuses for poor finishing last season, such as blaming the weather for making the pitch too wet after missing chances.

He used to play for Jeventus and Real Madrid. During that period of time, he had excellent performance, winning La Liga title and Champions League with Real Madrid, and Serie A title with Jeventus.

After experiencing upset period of last season, Morata has now netted four Premier League goals in four matches and five in six in all competitions in this season(2018-2019). His great performance in this round shows that he could come back to his peak period, and might contribute more to his club in the next several matches. He says that he is now ‘very happy’ with his situation, and if they want to fight for the Premier League at the end of the season, Hazard and the other strikers such as Willian, Pedro and Barkley, need to score many many goals.
