Dreaded MCAs ‘gang’ strikes again. Another speaker speechless!!

MCAs have become one of the most dreaded squads within the county assemblies if the recent statistics are anything to go by. Governors are now left at their mercies and they have to sing to the ‘gangs’ tune otherwise they will be uprooted from their prestigious offices.

The latest to go home is the Nyandarua Speaker Ndegwa Wahome who was impeached on Tuesday afternoon after his persistent disagreements with the governor Francis Kimemia. He was replaced by Gathure.

Hon. Gathure Wambui is the sitting MCA for Kaimbaga Ward and is a Member of Budget and Appropriations Committee; Finance and Economic Planning Committee; Roads, Public Works and Transport Committee and Education, Culture and Social Services Committee.

He holds a BA (Political Science & Economics) from the University of Nairobi and is pursuing a Bachelor of Laws degree from the same university. He is an alumnus of AC primary School, Nyahururu High School and Kiganjo Secondary School.

Before joining politics, Hon Gathure was a Marketing Executive at Philed Pharmaceutical Company and had also worked previously as a Relationship Officer at Equity Bank.

Hon. Gathure has been in the centre stage in promotion of development and advancement of livelihood for the people of Kaimbaga Ward.

A week ago, Business at the Nyandarua County Assembly was paralyzed and suspended once again after the speaker of the assembly failed to effect changes in the house leadership. The speaker had been instructed by both the courts and the Jubilee party secretariat to acknowledge the new majority leader, chief whip and their deputies but has consistently failed to heed to the orders.

Nyandarua County Assembly Speaker Wahome Ndegwa is not new to controversy finding himself on the receiving end ogften being accused him of bias and witch hunt. During an impeachment motion against Finance and Trade executive Mary Mugwanja and Ms Muthoni Wamuya, which has been dividing the House, the MCAs said the motion was deliberately initiated as a campaign tool and was in bad taste.
