Despite the rumours that ODM had instructed MPs and MCA’s not to attend the meeting in Migori County,Deputy President William Ruto was received in Migori with open arms.
Migori governor Okoth Obado is a member of the Orange Democratic Party but seems alienated with the party’s leadership especially after the Migori Senatorial by-elections and after he was linked to the murder case at the high court.
Migori residents turned out in large numbers to show support to the Deputy President as well as be part of the commissioning of the road.
Kenyans have reacted saying that these claims might have been brought out just to cause political tension and heighten the differences.
ODM has instructed its MPs and MCAs not to attend the event in Migori where governor Obado is hosting DP Ruto.

ODM however clarified on the matter saying that these allegations were untrue.
There has not been any such communication from the party to any of our members to that effect. Any communication from the party to our members has always been made public.

Through his twitter account, the Deputy President William Ruto hinted that he was impressed with the project launch. He also encouraged leaders to work together to enhance service delivery.
“High quality roads facilitate trade; open up areas for investment; ease transportation of goods, people; enhance access to services and job opportunities and are a critical component of achieving the Big Four.
All leaders should join hands, speak in unison and work together to enhance service delivery. We can only better lives through unity of purpose; dedication to duty and engaging in politics of development.
We appreciate the role of the Church in preaching peace, unity and harmony. That mission fits in with our agenda to ensure inclusivity and peaceful coexistence among communities, which will result in sustainable development.” he said
