Morata advised on how to be like Aguero and Kane

After bagging a brace over the weekend in the 3-1 win against Crystal Palace, Chelsea talisman Alvaro Morata has been advised by his manager Maurizio Sarri on how to score many goals as Harry Kane and Sergio Aguero.

The brace over the weekend takes his league tally to five and means that he has now scored four goals in last four league appearances. Morata has had a difficult start to the season going five games without a goal after scoring in the 3-2 win over Arsenal in the opening games of the season.

When asked if Morata can get to the levels of Kane and Aguero, Sarri replied, “I don’t. But for Alvaro, the goal has to be a consequence. He has to play for the team, with his mates, without thinking about goals. Goals are usually consequence of the team and the individual performance.”

The Italian manager admitted that Morata’s mentality is still fragile but he is improving, “He’s a little bit fragile from the mental point of view. But he’s very young. I think he can improve, improve very fast. Improved for the confidence, improved for the personality, improved also from the technical point of view. Now he’s able to play more with the team, I think.”

Sarri also drew comparisons between Morata and Chelsea legend Didier Drogba, “Drogba was one of the best in the world for 15 years. But Alvaro is very fast. Not in the first two or three steps, but if he has to run for 40m he’s very fast. He’s strong, so not like Drogba. He has great potential.”
