Kenyans on twitter are known to be some of the most vocal beings on earth. They always find solutions to seemingly all problems affecting Kenyans. They can also have a bad side that many of us apparently don’t ever want to get to. These are the kind of people that can kill you and bury you alive.
The Kenya police are today in the bad books of the Kenyans on twitter for the manner in which they handled demonstrating students from Maseno University.
In a video shared online by Embakasi East Mp. Babu Owino, the police can be seen making the Maseno students crawl like animals as they clobber them mercilessly. The Video has elicited many reactions online with many Kenyans calling for a stop to the seemingly never ending police brutality.
What @PoliceKE is doing to Maseno University students is WRONG and thus must be condemned in the strongest terms possible! |@FredMatiangi pic.twitter.com/ana7PNGW3a

When the police hear there is a Demonstration by University students, they take that as an opportunity to become Looters, Rapists and thugs. The Police will rob students of their valuables & beat them up. It’s like they unleash their stress on students. #PoliceBrutalityOnStudents

Parents took their children to university in order to improve their livelyhood. Imagine the shock when parents hears that their sons or daughters were shot by the people who are supposed to protect them…#PoliceBrutalityOnStudents

This is not the first time the Kenyan Police are on the spotlight for brutally handling University Students. In September last year, amateur videos emerged on social media showing General Service Unit officers clobbering Nairobi University students in their halls of residence.
Earlier this year, Meru University student’s leader Evans Njoroge was reportedly killed by a well-known, tall, brawny and limping cop.
The killing is claimed to the culmination of several attempts to silence students protesting over exorbitant fees and misappropriation of funds running into tens of millions.
Njoroge alias Kidero is said to have been murdered by the Administration Police (AP) cop on February 27 after he and the chairman of the university’s students association Wangila Wabomba, led a protest outside the varsity gates along the Meru-Maua Road.
Are Kenyans justified in demanding for action against Rogue police officers?
