Alvaro Morata vs Romelu Lukaku: Has the Spaniard turned the corner at Chelsea?

Alvaro Morata has once again found himself on the scoresheet for Chelsea this afternoon as he continues to find his feet at Stamford Bridge.

Following a slow start to life in West London, the Spaniard looks a player revitalised in recent weeks under the guidance of Maurizio Sarri.

The 26-year-old has now netted four Premier League goals in his last four appearances for the Blues.

Morata’s brace against Crystal Palace ensures he has been more prolific in front of goal in just his last four league games than he was between January and May.

Previously, the former Real Madrid man has looked devoid of confidence with Chelsea, but in recent weeks he appears to be heading in the right direction.

Sarri has shown a willingness to remain with Morata over Olivier Giroud and the Italian has begun to sculpt him into the striker the Blues originally thought they were getting back in 2017.

The player himself has admitted that his recent goalscoring feats have seen him grow in confidence.

Morata has now scored two more goals in all competitions than Romelu Lukaku this season.

Lukaku enjoyed a good year at Old Trafford last term but has failed to have much joy in 2o18/19.

The Belgian’s struggles are highlighted by his goals compared to Morata’s.
