Manchester United are on the up. That’s for sure as Jose Mourinho’s men are up to seventh in the league following a 2-1 away win at Bournemouth on Saturday.
The Red Devils beat Bournemouth after Callum Wilson fired the Cherries into an 11th minute lead.
Anthony Martial continued his brilliant scoring streak drawing Man United level.
Marcus Rashford came off the bench to lead Man United to victory in the final stages.
For the second week running, Romelu Lukaku was missing from Man United’s XI.
Lukaku was absent for the match at the Vitality Stadium after the striker picked up an injury in training.
With the Belgian unavailable, Mourinho played Alexis Sanchez as his central striker.
Sanchez, who has come in for plenty of criticism this season, impressed in his new role.
The Chilean was instrumental in Man United’s leveller.
In that move Sanchez won possession in the middle of the pitch, before releasing Ashley Young down right.
Sanchez then busted a gut to overlap Young down the right flank, where he got the ball back.
Alexis squared a pass into the Bournemouth box which Martial duly finished.
Ian Wright sung the praises of Alexis Sanchez: “I was quite pleased for him because we know he’s a quality player but what he done today – he stretched them and got himself into positions.
I think it [Sanchez] suits him [playing centrally] because he naturally wants to stretch team and he’s got the quality and ability to cause teams problems.
This is the goal, he wins the ball – people saying it was handball, I thought it just hit him really – then he picked Martial out beautifully.”
