Kenyans on twitter have lauded Governor Sonko’s initiative to help ailing former top female pugilist Conjestina Achieng. The governor sent his rescue team better known as Sonko Resue team to Conjestina village, Umiru in Siaya County.
Governor Sonko has also promised to give Conjestina a job should she fully recover.
Conje, is a former world boxing super middleweight champion and a two-time World Boxing Council middleweight title winning the World Boxing Federation, Global Boxing Union and World Boxing International Federation titles.

As some sections of Kenyans lauded Sonko, others were quick to bash leaders especially those from the Nyanza Region for failing to act on Conjestina’s plight. Siaya Governor Colonel Rasanga was singled out for allegedly abandoning Conjestina yet she hails from his county and brought much joy and pride to the country at large.
