Right now, at this very moment, Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko looks like an angel in the eyes of many Kenyans after he airlifted veteran boxer Conjestina from her Siaya home to Nairobi to get treatment.
In a post shared by the Governor on Twitter, he said he was bringing the boxer to Nairobi for treatment and even promised to get her a job after rehabilitation.

Kenyans have since lauded the Governor for responding to the plight of the boxer who suffers from the mental condition called schizophrenia.

While what Governor Sonko has done is commendable and applause-worthy, it just seems like he pounced on Comedian and Director in the board of the National Authority for the Campaign Against alcohol Drug Abuse (NACADA), Chipukeezy’s plan to help Conjestina.
Yesterday, after a video of Conjestina went viral, Chipukeezy share a post on his Instagram saying that he and NACADA would come to the aid of the boxer.
“I’ve talked to the family and we have agreed I go pick her tomorrow in kisumu and take her to the Best Rehab/mental in Kenya.. As NACADA We will take care of her,” he said on his Instagram.
Barely a day later, news emerged that Sonko and his team were already airlifting the boxer to Nairobi for treatment. Was the Governor trying to still the shine and make himself look good? Or was this just another case of ‘great minds think alike?’
Whichever way you choose to look at it, let’s hope that Conjestina who put Kenya on the map because of winning international boxing titles, will get the help she deserves and rebuilds her life.

The decision for Governor Sonko to come to Conjestina’s help comes a day after a video of the boxer in a desolate state went viral on social media.
