Arsenal to lose star on a free transfer… what a blunder

Arsenal midfielder Aaron Ramsey will leave the club at the end of the season on a free transfer after the club told him in person.

As reported by Sky Sports, Ramsey will not be given a new contract with the club telling him why he won’t be offered a new contract.

The Wales international earlier in the week said he was waiting to get an explanation from the club why it withdrew the offer of a new long-term deal following months of talks.

He found out via agent before speaking out publicly on the issue, telling a newspaper that he was hoping “somebody will come up and tell me why” the option to stay was taken off the table.

Over the weekend, discussions finally took place and now Ramsey has accepted that this will be his final season at the Emirates.

Ramsey joined Arsenal in 2008 from Cardiff and has made 341 appearances, netting 59 goals. He won three FA Cups in 2014, 2015 and 2017 during Arsene Wenger’s reign.
