Noisy nightclubs and bars in Nairobi to be closed indefinitely.
Nairobi County Governor Mike Sonko has issued new directives on noisy nightclubs and bars in Nairobi estates to be closed until candidates are done with the ongoing national exams.
In a statement to newsrooms, the Governor charged the National Environment Management Authority (NEMA) and security agencies to enforce the order.
“Governor Sonko has directed the NEMA, the Nairobi County Liquor Control Board and security agencies to ensure that the noise in the estates is minimized,” the statement read in part.
Sonko noted that the move will allow Class Eight and Form Four candidates to prepare well for their examinations without any disturbance.
NEMA director for enforcement Njoki Mukiri maintained that they will comply with Sonko’s directive since the mandate was under City Hall officials.
The Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE) commenced on Tuesday and will be completed Thursday while KCSE exam theory papers will start on November 5 and end on November 29.
