Legend Rooney blasts players giving Mourinho a hard time

Wayne Rooney is adamant that some Manchester United players have to improve by doing more in a bid to help get their season back on track.

The Red Devils find themselves in 8th position after Sunday’s win over Everton. Mourinho has found himself under scrutiny following an inconsistent run of form which has seen key players fail to perform. Rooney, who is United’s record goalscorer, believes anyone who puts on the shirt must show the required level of respect.

“Obviously they are going through a difficult time but Jose Mourinho is very experienced and I think some players have to do a little better. Hopefully they can turn their form around, win a few more games and keep the pressure on the top of the table. In my experience, I have never seen or heard of a player not wanting to play in the game because they had a falling out with the manager,” Rooney said in an interview with Football Focus, published on the BBC Sport website.

Rooney has made a big impact following his move to DC United after leaving Everton, the club be rejoined from Manchester United in the summer of 2017.
