Football Association (FA) has fined Chelsea assistant coach Marco Ianni 6,000 euros ($7,600) following his wild celebrations in front of Manchester United coach Jose Mourinho.
During Chelsea’s 2-2 draw with United at the Stamford Bridge, Ianni sparked a touchline row for celebrating Ross Barkley’s late equalizer.
“Chelsea coach Marco Ianni has been fined 6,000 euros after he admitted an FA improper conduct charge. It concerned his behaviour in the 96th minute of the game against Manchester United on October 20, 2018,” an FA statement read.
Mourinho said that both Ianni and Maurizio Sarri apologized after the game and said he considered the matter closed. However, the FA went ahead and opened disciplinary proceedings and Ianni has now been fined.
