Will he give up? Origi opens on tough Liverpool life at lIverpool

“At 23 I have big ambitions but for me it’s just about focusing’ those are the words of  Liverpool talisman Divock Origi as he opened up about life on the sidelines and admitted that he is not going to give up on his dream of regularly playing for The Reds without a fight.

Origi is yet to feature for Liverpool this season after he failed to secure a move out of the club in the July transfer window. The Belgian with Kenyan roots spend last season on loan to Bundesliga outfit Wolfsburg and failed to impress, scoring just six league goals all season. Origi turned down a £22million switch to Wolverhampton Wanderers while Besiktas and Borussia Dortmund also expressed interest.

In a lengthy interview Origi opened up about life on the fringes and how he is waiting on his moment to impress manager Jurgen Klopp, “At 23 I have big ambitions but for me it’s just about focusing on the here and now and driving on as much as possible and hopefully let my feet talk on the pitch.

“Goals are a result of you being happy and performing on the pitch and I am aiming to do whatever I can to enjoy it, if that’s in training or if that’s in game. I will try to maximise that and then we can see how it goes.

“I just hope for the best in everything and know that whenever I can shine my light it is a positive for everyone: for the club, for me, for the game that I am trying to impact… so I am really focusing on that.

“The manager has been encouraging me, like he does with all the players, just trying to push us and bring the best out of us every day.”

Origi was included in the matchday squad against Huddersfield a fought night ago and Origi was happy to make it to the bench though he didn’t feature, “It was a good experience. It is always good to be involved in the team and I think it shows that I have been going in the right way, so I am happy.

“I am trying to improve every day and just enjoying my game. I have been enjoying my training and feel as though I have been training well so that is good.”
