“Both are murder suspects!’ Kenyans Question why Obado was released but Jowie is Denied Bail

It is funny how the Kenyan Judicial systems operate. These guys have never been consistent and perhaps that’s the reason why the country is on the verge of collapsing over run away corruption.

Our judges have never convicted any big fish in the corruption cases. But try pickpocketing someone in the streets of Nairobi, you will rot in prison. Ironically, the person you pickpocket could also be a thief who is entertaining slay queens with tax payers money.

On Tuesday, the court denied Joseph Irungu alias Jowie bail on the basis that he will interfere with witnesses. Jowie is being treated as the first accused in the murder of Monica Kimani.

Ms Kimani was found dead in her apartment along Denis Pritt Rd in Lamuria Gardens in Kilimani on 20th September. Her throat had been slit.

Last week, the same court released Migori governor Okoth Obado on a ksh 5 million cash bail. Obado, just like Jowie is the first accused in the murder of his pregnant girlfriend Sharon Otieno.

In fact the Migori County chief is facing double murder charges, that of killing Sharon and his unborn son.

Sharon’s mutilated body was found in a thicket in Kodera forest, two days after being lured to abduction by Michael Oyamo, Obado’s aide who is also in custody.

According to the autopsy, the 26 year old Rongo University Student was gang-raped before being stabbed eight times. One of the knives penetrated her belly and killed the fetus.

So why is Obado walking free but Jowie denied bail yet both of them are prime suspects in the cases they’re facing?

More worrying for Jowie, is how Justice Wakiaga described him. The good judge said that Jowie is a male version of a slay queen, a woman eater.

Do you believe it was right to free Obado but deny Jowie Bail?
