Jowie Practically Gunned Himself by Displaying Guns to the Public

We all have moments that we take to visit social media maybe to get information or just post stuff about ourselves. Being a Kenyan, i know that many of us basically go to social media to post pictures of ourselves at times with no caption at all.

Did you know that some of the pictures you post on social media might one day come back to haunt you? Well, the answer to this question is Yes.

Most of us knew nothing about Joseph Irungu alias Jowie until after he started dating TV journalist Jacque Maribe. His identity later became full blown after the Monica Kimani murder case. Kenyans were all over searching for information about him on the inter webs.

Ladies were obviously moved by his cute nature but many Kenyans found issue with the fact that the now embattled young man had many sophisticated guns at his disposal and could at times be seen dressed like a movie star. I actually thought he was the Kenyan version of “Commando”

Jowie’s display of guns on social media seem to be finally haunting him. This is because he was denied bail partly because of this.

Justice James Wakiaga believes that his open display of firearms is a clear indication that he is able to marshal them and use them to his advantage by maybe silencing the said witnesses in the case.

Justice Wakiaga added that Jowie’s love for guns could create fear and intimidation among the witnesses.

If released, the court ruled, there is a likelihood that he would interfere with the crime scene.

In denying Jowie bail, the court futher ruled that he has extensively traveled to Middle East with no known assets in the country and his willingness to surrender the passport is no guarantee that he will not jump bail or abscond court.

Further, the court noted that Jowie had no fixed aboard and no evidence before court that if released he would have a place to live so likely to abscond court.

The court further noted that Jowie was in need of close supervision which can only be attained under protective custody and directed that he be treated at Kenyatta National Hospital with referral from the prison clinic.

Jowie is facing charges relating to the gruesome murder of business woman Monica Kimani. He has denied the charges and will now have to wait until the hearing of the case commences for him to prove his innocence.

For now, he will be a guest of the state for a unknown period of time.

Do you think the court was right in using Jowie’s love for guns as a basis of denying him bail?
