Steve Gerrard has enjoyed his first few months of management at Rangers but things took a turn for the worse today as Rangers slipped to defeat against Aberdeen in the Betfred Cup semi-finals.
The former Liverpool legend has certainly had a big impact on the game in Scotland with his team doing particularly well in Europe up to this point.
Things haven’t quite worked out on the domestic front though with the Gers currently 5th in the Scottish Premiership table and now out of the League cup following a dismal display at Hampden Park.
Aberdeen won the game thanks to a late Lewis Ferguson header and it is fair to say that opposition fans (particularly Celtic ones) took delight in the failure from Rangers and Steven Gerrard.

Steven Gerrard was quick to say after the game that he may be looking for new players if the current Rangers squad doesn’t step up the plate which is an ominous warning after the disappointing defeat to Aberdeen.
