Obado reveals his investment in education sector moments after resuming office

Migori Governor Okoth Obado returned to work on Monday since his arrest over the brutal murder of Rongo University student Sharon Otieno.

Obado, who reported back to his Migori office which had been inactive since his arrest, held several meetings with his senior officers. On his first day in office, the embattled governor wished all the candidates sitting for the national exams success.

The Migori governor noted that the first lot of the beneficiaries of his scholarship were sitting for their national examinations this year.

“Let me take this opportunity to wish all Form Four and Standard Eight candidates success in their KCSE and KCPE examinations respectively. I am proud that our first lot; the first beneficiaries of the Governor’s Scholarship are sitting their exams this year. This is a population of 200 candiadtes and I pray for them; may God bless them all. I have confidence that Migori County will feature among the best counties in the country,” the post on his facebook account read.

After one month in Police custody ,one would want to go  home and  have long bath then get some sleep.Well that not the case with Embattled Governor  Obado who on Saturday morning arrived in his home county of Migori after which his aides immediately rushed him for a church service at Upper Hill SDA church for prayers.
The County boss did not speak much during the service but called on the congregation to pray for him. “Pray for me because I am in a difficult situation, but also remain united and peaceful,” Obado said.

On Monday made his first return to his office following a five-week stay in state custody as he faced charges linking him to the murder of his slain girlfriend Sharon Otieno. There was a flurry of activity at Migori County headquarters as staff and members of the public lined up to welcome Obado to his office.

The County chief held several meetings with senior executives in his administration where he was briefed on the developments made during his absence.

The county headquarters had been unusually quiet as most of the staff kept a laid back approach as they waited to hear the fate of the governor.
