Chelsea maintained their league unbeaten run at Turf Moor against Burnley with a 4-0 win.

Goals from Alvaro Morata, Ross Barkley Willian, and Ruben Loftus Cheek were enough for the Blues as they remain tightly in the title race.

Joe Hart denied Chelsea an early goal as he made quite a wonderful save after Kante picked Barkley whose shot went wide but found Morata on its way. The Spaniard hit it towards the goal but the former Manchester City custodian lept and parried the ball away in the 11thh minute.

Willian was unlucky to see his effort hit the post in the 20th minute after robbing Lowton along the right flank. The Brazilian did not get enough space to shoot after beating Hart but his final curve hit the post.

A relentless Blues were awarded a deserved opener in the 22nd minute after Barkley worked through Burnley defenders and sprayed the pass to Morata whose composed finish broke the hosts who failed to contain Chelsea all along. Morata should have earned himself a brace in the 38th minute as he once again beat his marker Ben Mee and looked all certain to put the ball into the net, unfortunately, his shot went wide at the near post.

Barkley strode forward right from the midfield 12 minutes after the resumption of the second half and drilled a low shot past Hart from some 25-yards away. This was a testament to Chelsea’s dominance and Burnley’s failure to contain their visitors who were firing from all salvos.

Willian added the third for the unbeaten Chelsea two minutes after an hour of lop-sided proceedings at Turf Moor. The winger cut inside from the left flank and bend a shot that Hart stood no chance of laying his stretched arm.

After replacing Morata, Giroud should have been clinical enough to add the fourth goal for the 2016/17 league champions but his effort went wide. Willian was the orchestrator of the fine move prior to Giroud’s shot.

Loftus-Cheek compounded matters for Hart and Burnley as he grabbed the fourth goal for Chelsea in the second minute of added time. The Englishman is fresh from netting the hat-trick in the Europa League clash against Bate Borisov.
