Nyanza is loading… Gideon Moi’s Journey to Statehouse Gets a Boost!

Gideon Moi’s political path might just be taking shape if his recent association with the ODM Party is anything to go by. Days after meeting with Mombasa governor Ali Hassan Joho, the Baringo Senator now seems to be making in roads in the Luo Nyanza Region.

He was over the weekend hosted by a section of leaders from the region at an event in Homabay County. The leaders said that the Senator was in a right path and was destined to work with opposition chief Raila Odinga.

The Present ODM leaders that included Gladys Wanga , Ong’ondo Were , Antony Oluoch  and Lillian Gogo argued that Gideon would succeed in his political ambitions should he team up with Raila. They pledged to support his political plans.

Gideon however, was quick to play down the act as he discouraged politicians against engaging in early campaigns for the country’s top most seat.

“I pity some leaders, those who are already dancing themselves lame yet music has not started. The DJ is still testing the tunes. Waende pole pole ,” he said

Gladys Wanga said the handshake deal between President Uhuru Kenyatta and Raila is an indication the latter is a reputable leader who means well for the country.

She said they will support Gideon in his political endeavours.

“We want Gideon to work together with Mr Odinga and take this country forward. We are humbled with his humility. He has all the qualities of a good leader,” said Wanga.

Wanga added that continued her praises on Gideon Moi terming him a man that can champion for development in the country

Another ODM legislator,Mr. Were said that Gideon Moi is a humble leader and not corrupt.

On her part, Dr. Gogo said that the residents of Homabay were ready to support Gideon’s political agenda.

“I want to tell Gideon that he is on the right side of history. If he works with Raila, all Kenyans will board that bus. Once he shakes hands with Baba, everything will be easy,” said Gogo.

The legislators spoke in presence of Gideon during fundraiser for small scale women traders in Homa Bay town.

They told the Kanu chairman to continue supporting the building bridges initiative spearheaded by Raila and Kenyatta as it is aimed at uniting Kenyans.

Gideon was accompanied by Baringo woman representative Gladwell Cheruyot and Isiolo nominated Senator Abshire.

He said he is ready to work with like-minded leaders who want fight corruption.

After the fundraiser, Gidoen later visited the home of former Kanu pointman and friendhis father, Daniel arap Moi, the late Elisha Aketch Chieng’ in Ndhiwa. Mr Chieng was buried last week. He promised to help the family settle a Sh1.5 million bank loan Chieng’ died before settling.
