The saying ‘Mwenye Nguvu Mpishe’  was specifically coined for majority of Kenyans who live from hand to mouth.

In this country of ours, everyone is struggling to put food on the table and doesn’t really care how their actions will affect others.

A case in point is that of slain Rongo University student Sharon Otieno. Sharon was gang raped before stabbed eight times. Her killers didn’t even have the decency to cover her body, as she was found naked in a bush.

In the aftermath of her body being found, and the revelation that Sharon was having an affair with Migori governor Okoth Obado, moral Kenyans decided to direct their guns at the deceased and not her killers.

In the courts of public opinion, Sharon deserved to die. Reason being, she was having an affair. Her family had to deal with all kinds of ridicule, insults and bullying on social media.

It is foolish to say some things just because they don’t touch you directly. As a matter of fact, very many girls in Kenya have the so called ‘sponsors’ In fact, Obado will still attract more girls after his release.

You can’t blame these girls. The blame should also be laid to rich men who take advantage of vulnerable young college girls. However, a lot of blame should be put on the moral decay in society.

However much anyone tries to justify Sharon’s murder, the naked fact is that she didn’t deserve to die. Her pain was felt by her family. The insults were carried by the family.

They have gone through a lot for the past two months. You see, it is so unnatural for parents to bury their kids. It should be the other way around.

After her burial, the family switched focus to the courts, where they hoped they would get justice for their young daughter.

It was so unfortunate when they heard that the main suspect, her boyfriend, has been released on a sh 5 million bail.

According to her father Douglas Otieno, everything has been left to God.

“I have heard that he has been released on bail. As a family, we have left everything to God and the courts,” said Sharon’s father, as quoted by the local media.

And they will need God to be on their side at this moment since many families have never found justice for their loved ones.

The murder trial of Mercy Keino went cold. There is also nothing to tell about Chris Musando and Jacob Juma.
