Will Messi absence affect Barcelona

Barcelona defender Jordi Alba believes that the club has great players who will guide it to victory in the absence of Lionel Messi but added that The Argentine’s absence affects his play.

Lionel Messi sustained an injury to his elbow in the game against Sevilla over the weekend and was withdrawn halfway through the first half with what looked like an overstretched elbow ligaments.

Initial scans revealed that the Argentine forward will be out of action for about three weeks.

Alba revealed that the club has the depth to win games without Messi but his absence affects his play, “His absence especially affects my own game. But he’s important for all of us because he makes us all play better. We’ll have to do our very best, and I’m more than certain that we will. Nobody can replace Messi but we’ll just have to make sure we win our next few matches with the other great players we have.”

Barcelona face Inter Milan in the UEFA Champions League on Wednesday 24th October in a 10 PM kick off.
