Migori governor Okoth Obado was finally released on Wednesday after eating Sukuma wiki for close to one month at the Industrial Area Police remand.

News of his release have elicited different reactions from his die hard supporters across the country. But one man in particular has demonstrated how unwavering faith in God can move even mountains.

This man, who has been unidentified hails from Bomet County, which is currently hosting the Lake Region Economic Bloc conference.

He staged a public one man prayer asking God to allow the embattled governor visit Bomet before the end of the conference which ends today (Wednesday)

And his prayers were granted as Obado was finally freed on a sh five million charged despite facing very serious charges of killing his girlfriend Sharon Otieno and her unborn child.

In her ruling, Justice Jessie Lessit directed that Obado does not go anywhere near Sharon’s family.

“He shall not go anywhere within 20Kms of Homabay County boundary on all sides of that county,” Justice Jessie Lessit warned.

She further directed that Obado should not skip any court session as his bail could be revoked at any time.

It is not yet clear if the governor will attend the conference in Bomet but we are sure he will pass through the County on his way to Migori. That means that the man from Migori has had his wish.

Obado’s release was welcomed with songs and dance at the Milimani law courts where his supporters had gathered before the ruling.

Obado’s supporters danced and shook hands with smiles written all over their faces. They carried shirts branded with Obado’s picture as they waited for their leader to come out of the court.

As they celebrate their governor’s release, the family of the Rongo University student Sharon Otieno still remains in pain over the ruling.

The High Court judge Jessie Lessit ordered Obado to deposit his travel documents including his passport before he is released.

Obado is facing two murder charges alongside his personal assistant Michael Oyamo and county Clerk Caspal Obiero.

The second charge is that of killing Sharon’s unborn child.
