Jobless hooligans! Infuriated KOT attack Obado fans

The release of governor Obado  on bail of sh 5 million today has triggered mixed reactions from Kenyans who mostly feel that justice has surely disappeared in the wind.However the governors few friends that  still believe and are behind him showed their loyal support and joy by celebrating outside the courts.

This has infuriated those who are adamant that Obado is a criminal who should remain behind bars.They have taken to twitter to show their disappointment in the fans calling them hooligans

Migori Governor Okoth Obado has been released on a Sh 5 million cash bail in the murder case of Sharon Otieno and her unborn child after spending over a month in remand.

High Court Judge Jessie Lessit further imposed two sureties of Sh 5 million each and ordered him to deposit his travel documents including all his passports in court.

He shall report to the Deputy Registrar of the Milimani High Court once a month and has been banned to discuss the deceased and the case in meetings and political rallies

Justice Lessit however directed that Obado is not free to move anywhere within 20 kilometres of Homabay County boundary.

“He shall not cause an adjournment in this case. He shall report once a month to the Deputy Registrar of this court… he shall not contact or intimidate whether directly or by proxy, any of the witnesses in this case,” she ordered.

Governor Obado is also to surrender his travel documents in court, that is his Kenyan, East African and diplomatic passports

His personal aides Michael Oyamo and Casper Obiero were however denied bail with Justice Lessit stating that their freedom would intimidate witnesses in the case.

“The evidence affecting the second and third accused has been acknowledged by both of them. They each went further and made responses in their affidavits. It is therefore acknowledged that such evidence exists and cannot be brushed aside,” she pointed out.

“There are compelling reasons not to grant the second and third accused bail at this stage. I find that releasing them may send fear, anxiety to potential witnesses therefore leading to intimidation which may adversely affect the case.”
