Cry for justice. DCI launch hunt for young brutalized boy

The Directorate of Criminal Investigations today sent out an appeal to the public to help trace a boy who was assaulted and brutalized.

According to a good Samaritan who rescued him, the young boy was assaulted by a group of boys who he says he knows by name. Speaking in Kikuyu, the boys said that he was ambushed in his hideout, assaulted and forced to run for his life at night. He later slept in a forest and sought for help from a neighbor.

In a tweet, the DCI read “The #DCI is appealing for information on the whereabouts of this poor brutalised boy for us to act with speed. We are extremely concerned about the safety of the boy. Please feel free to share with us any information that may help us on the matter.”

The video was made public after Citizen TV aired the plight of the boy who had been taken to Mukurwe-ini police station by good Samaritans. Gichinga Muita, one of the good Samaritans explained that they boy was kicked out of his home by his step-parents and has been poverty stricken for over five years.

Mr. Muita said that the boy has been depending on neighbors for food and clothing and added that it was now time for him to get justice.

“Kama miaka tano hivi, huyu mtoto amekua hana nyumba ya kukaa, alifukuzwa na wazazi wake – hao wanajiita wazazi – na analala na kuvishwa na majirani… tumeona tulete hii kesi kwa media na police ili apate haki,” he said speaking in Swahili.

Hellen Wangui, one of the people who rushed him to hospital and then to the police station for help, asked that the boy be kept under the care of the government and not returned to his foster parents.

“Asirudishwe huko kwao, achukuliwe na serikali sababu anateseka sana,” said Wangui.
