Chelsea star forcing move out of the club

Andreas Christensen’s father and agent Sten have confirmed the defender will request to leave Chelsea if he won’t be given playing time before Christmas.

The 22-year-old has been glued to bench most time having only started twice this season for the Blues and he is yet to feature in the Premier League. Despite being a regular starter in the second half of last season under Antonio Conte, he has fallen down the pecking order under new boss Maurizio Sarri. Sarri has preferred David Luiz to Christensen so far this season and the player last week admitted he was unhappy with the situation.

The player’s father claimed he will request for a permanent transfer unless his son is given more playtime. During his interview with Danish television, Sten said, “If his situation doesn’t change around Christmas, we’ll obviously schedule a chat with Chelsea and say, ‘okay, what can we do for Andreas? Can we move him?’”

“For me, it’s not a loan again. Either it’s Chelsea or else he needs to leave. I don’t think a loan is, the optimal situation for Andreas. It’s sort of either or,” he added.

The Danish international spent two successful seasons on loan at Borussia Monchengladbach, something Sten isn’t welcoming.
