Nairobi Women Rep Esther Passaris yesterday ferried a whole bus of Nairobians in order to attend Sharon Otieno’s burial.
Yesterday, the body of Sharon was released from a Homa Bay morgue and transported to her Magere home for burial which is scheduled for today.
Unimpressed Kenyans have reacted saying that the move by the Nairobi Women Rep was uncalled for and she is also seeking public attention.
Kenyans might have reacted without knowing the reason behind her decision. Esther Passaris had shared her intentions saying that the team that is going will show solidarity with the family and friends of the Late Sharon Otieno.
“Wishing journey mercies to young activists from Nairobi who’ll stand in solidarity with the family & friends of the Late Sharon Otieno as she’s laid to rest tomorrow. I pray your experience is profound and that God watches over you throughout this trip.” reads her tweet from yesterday

Her decision has resulted to a heated debate online. Here are some of the reactions from Kenyans
I didn’t see you flagging off a Nairobi delegation headed for Monica’s funeral! Hope hakuna political undertones kwa hii gesture.
— Jack (@AgaiJackson) October 18, 2018
Do you flag off the delegation or see them off, any whichever it is, it was not necessary. This is the sign of joblessness that the young people are in
— PAUL OTIENO ONYANGO (@JAKADAWA) October 18, 2018
Not everyone who attends a funeral are jobless. Who is Sharon to these guys you are flagging off?
