Boring Times Ahead For Embu North Constituents As Keshas And Discos Banned

Boring times ahead for residents of Embu North after the provincial administration announced a ban on night prayers and night discos in a bid to give examination candidates time to study and prepare for the exams.
The Manyatta Assistant County Commissioner, Benjamin Berich said that the noise brought by the ‘keshas’ and discos are a distraction to students trying to study for their exams. According to Mr. Berich, the ban will help eliminate the noise in the area.
The ban comes a few days after the Cabinet Secretary for Interior & Coordination of National Government, Fred Matiang’i said that no security personnel or officials in the Interior Ministry will be allowed to go on leave until November 30th after the examinations.
‘This is a critical time. No one will be on leave from the interior Ministry. Leave is hereby suspended until 30th; We will all be on duty. My calendar has been cleared from 29th October to 29th November and I will be at the containers with you,” said the CS.
The administrator also noted that security measures have been put in place to avert any irregularities that include exam cheating an issue that both CS Fred Matiang’i and Cabinet Secretary for Education,  AMB. Dr. Amina Mohamed have been keen on.
“Our resolve has not changed… our mission still remains the same… our focus is still the same… and our commitment is even stronger; that we will deliver clean exams, that we will continue the legacy of honesty and integrity in the way we manage our education system in the country.” said Dr. Matiang’i.

CS Amina had earlier stated that no parent would be allowed to visit their children in boarding schools during the entire examination period adding that, parents would be held liable for children found with mobile phones while in school.

“Such children will be immediately suspended and not allowed to sit for the examination,” she said.

The CS maintained that only center managers will be allowed to carry their mobile phones into the examination room.

The Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (KCPE) examinations is expected to start from October 30 to November 1 while the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) examinations set to kick off on November 5.
