Why Neymar wants Barcelona return

Paris Saint-Germain superstar Neymar reportedly wants a return to FC Barcelona after growing disillusioned with life in the French capital.

There have been widespread reports claiming the world-record transfer holder feels his career is being stagnated with the Ligue 1 champions – after failing to make the top three of FIFA’s The Best award.

According to Mundo Deportivo, the £200m signing has continued to send signals towards the PSG directors about not fulfilling his desired objectives – of winning the UEFA Champions League and enhancing his chances of major individual honours.

Despite a record of 39 goals and 20 assists in 41 games, the general consensus amongst fans and French media alike has likened his teenage teammate Kylian Mbappe as the attacking talisman of the side.

The report further suggested the emergence of Mbappe has left the Selecao forward frustrated and a move to line-up alongside Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez has become increasingly more appealing.

According to RAC1, Barcelona president Josep Maria Bartomeu has talked to Barcelona ‘senators’ about the possibility of Neymar re-joining the team and all of them gave their green light to the Brazilian’s return to the Nou Camp.

The Catalan paper states Barca fans are also ready to welcome O’Ney back as they have always thought that leaving Blaugrana was a big mistake and are ready to forgive him if he decides to return to Barcelona at the end of the season.
