The difference between Wenger and Arsenal boss Unai Emery explained

Arsenal right-back Hector Bellerin has revealed that manager Unai Emery has brought about a winning mentality at the club since his appointment back in May and also spoke of Arsene Wenger’s impact on his career.

After their poor start to the season losing their opening two games to Manchester City and Chelsea, Arsenal have put the defeats behind them winning nine games consecutively.

The wins have put them back into contention of the title as they are just two points behind Liverpool, Manchester City and Chelsea who are all locked at 20 points.

Bellerin opened up about Emery’s winning mentality, “Now with Emery, it’s more about following the process of becoming a professional footballer. I’m still really young. Personally, it’s more about improving tactically now and taking experiences game by game. The coaching staff are really good. He wants to make us really competitive and slowly we’re showing the improvements.”

The Spaniard also spoke highly of former manager Arsene Wenger, “They are coaches with a completely different mindset and ways of working. Under Wenger, I became the player that I am today because he’s the guy that signed me at 16. I owe him a lot and all the time I spent here he made me play so much even when I was really young. Those are things you owe him back.”
