Why Manchester United cannot win the league

Paul Scholes has taken a dig at his former club Manchester United by saying it won’t win the Premier League title with Romelu Lukaku leading the attack.

The club legend believes Lukaku lacks the capacity to lead the Red Devils to Premier League title. Scholes has also questioned the Belgian’s work rate.

BRIGHTON, ENGLAND –

The 25-year-old has netted 20 Premier League goals in 40 starts since joining United. He has scored four goals so far this season but Scholes is far from being convinced that he is the right man to lead United’s attack.

“I’m just not sure you are ever going to win the league with a goal scorer like him. I don’t think his play outside of the box is good enough. I’m not sure if he works hard enough but he’s still a young man who has done well and scored a lot of goals,” he told ESPN.

“He’s quick and strong, but Lukaku is one of many United players who look like they’re short of confidence. I don’t think he realizes how good he can be, but he needs help because who else can play center-forward at United now?”

Lukaku will be up against his former side Chelsea on Saturday 20th in a Premier League early kick-off encounter.
